Carlos Yulo bags four medals, including a gold, at Asian Gymnastics Championships

JECHEON, South Korea – Filipino gymnastics sensation Carlos Yulo concluded his impressive run at the 2025 Asian Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jecheon, South Korea, on Sunday, June 8, securing a total of four medals: one gold and three bronzes.
Yulo’s medal haul includes a bronze in the individual all-around on Thursday, June 5, followed by a gold medal in his pet event, the floor exercise, on Saturday, June 7. He then added two more bronzes on Sunday in the vault and parallel bars events.
In the vault final, Yulo earned a bronze medal with a score of 14.333 from his two vaults. Iran’s Mahdi Olfati claimed the gold with a score of 14.500, while China’s Huang Mingqi took the silver with 14.400. This apparatus has historically been a strong event for Yulo, though he did not top the podium in this instance.
He continued his medal-winning performance in the parallel bars, securing another bronze with a score of 14.166. The parallel bars event was dominated by Japan, with Shinnosuke Oka winning gold (14.700) and Tomoharu Tsunogai earning silver (14.466).
Yulo also competed in the horizontal bar final, finishing seventh with a score of 12.000. He placed seventh in the rings with a score of 13.233 and did not qualify for the pommel horse final.
Notably, Yulo’s younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, also earned a silver medal in the vault in the juniors division of the same championships.
Carlos Yulo’s performance at these championships sets the stage for his upcoming competitions, with his sights now set on the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 19 to 25, followed by the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
