NBA FINALS 2025
Oklahoma City Thunder win 2025 NBA championship in Game 7 thriller

The Oklahoma City Thunder have claimed their first NBA championship since relocating from Seattle in 2008, defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in a hard-fought Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. The victory, secured on their home court at Paycom Center on Sunday night, brings the franchise its second title overall, building on the Seattle SuperSonics’ triumph in 1979.
The decisive Game 7 saw the Thunder’s defense emerge as a major factor, stifling the Pacers’ offense, particularly in the second half. While Indiana, which has never won an NBA title, fought valiantly and even held a one-point lead at halftime, Oklahoma City outscored them 56-43 after the break to pull away for the championship.
League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a stellar performance, leading all players with 29 points and adding 12 assists to cap off his dominant season.
A somber moment occurred in the first quarter when Pacers superstar Tyrese Haliburton, who had been battling a calf injury, left the game with what ESPN reported was an Achilles injury. Haliburton, visibly emotional, was carried off the floor, marking a heartbreaking end to his impressive postseason run. Despite the significant loss of their key player, the Pacers demonstrated their resilient spirit, pushing the Thunder to their limit throughout the series and fighting until the very end of Game 7.
