Caridad “Caring” Yamson-Seguerra, the beloved mother of OPM artist Ice Seguerra, passed away on Friday morning, June 27. Seguerra shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional social media post.

On his Instagram, Ice announced, “This morning, at 7:54 AM, our family said goodbye to the most amazing woman I’ve ever known: my mom, Mommy Caring.”

Ice fondly described his mother as having lived a “full and beautiful life,” characterizing her as strong, kind, and quietly funny. He emphasized her unwavering presence throughout his life. “From my childhood until now, she never left my side. Every show, every gig, every milestone, she was there. She was always present,” he wrote, recalling how she would send his favorite food and massage his head when he had a headache.

He also expressed profound gratitude for her unconditional support. “She supported me not just as an artist, but as her child. She was my fiercest protector. She accepted me and embraced me for who I am, especially who I am not.”

Ice conveyed the deep pain of losing her, feeling as though a part of himself is gone. However, he promised to be brave and resilient, qualities he learned from her.

Mommy Caring is survived by Ice and his brother, Juan Carlos Miguel. Details of her wake are expected to be shared later today.

Ice concluded his post by requesting prayers and love for his family and for his mother. He also extended thanks to everyone who was part of her life and those who loved and treated her like their own mother, noting that they made her very happy. He found comfort in the thought that his mother is now reunited with his father. “We’ll miss you forever, Mama. But you and Daddy are together now. And that gives me comfort. I love you very much, my Mama,” he concluded.
