LPA over Philippine Sea moves closer to Luzon, ‘medium’ chance of tropical cyclone in 24 hours

MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) situated over the Philippine Sea has moved closer to Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA).

As of 8 p.m. Monday, the weather disturbance was located 720 kilometers east of Baler, Aurora. PAGASA has assessed that the LPA carries a “medium” chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
