EXCLUSIVE: Find out when the demolition of the historic ABS-CBN Millennium Transmitter will begin

QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Officials, contract stars, employees, and former staff of the Kapamilya Network gathered at the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, for an emotional farewell to the network’s former building and its iconic Millennium Transmitter, also known as the ABS-CBN Tower.
The demolition of the old ABS-CBN building and the Millennium Transmitter is set to proceed as a significant portion – three hectares – of the property, including their studios, chapel, and the Dolphy Theater, has been sold to Ayala Land, Inc.
The farewell event for the now-darkened Millennium Transmitter was led by former ABS-CBN executives Gabby Lopez III and Charo Santos-Concio; current ABS-CBN executives Carlo Katigbak, Mark Lopez, and Cory Vidanes; prominent personalities Noli de Castro and Karen Davila; and stars Coco Martin and former “Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition” housemates, among many others.
During the annual stockholders’ meeting on June 25, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak announced that the transfer of the sold property to Ayala Land is scheduled for December 2026.
According to a reliable source who spoke with Asia Biz Network, the demolition of the historic Millennium Transmitter, considered one of Quezon City’s significant landmarks, will commence in January 2025.
Clad in shirts colored red, green, and blue, representing the iconic ABS-CBN logo, current and former employees of the TV network reminisced about their happy days of service. The network’s franchise was not renewed by Congress on July 10, 2020, during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
