Tropical Storm Crising maintains strength as it nears Northern Luzon

Tropical Storm Crising continues to hold its strength as it moves northwestward over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan, prompting the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to maintain Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) in parts of Northern Luzon.
As of 10:00 PM Friday, the center of Crising was located over the coastal waters of Calayan, Cagayan (19.4°N, 121.6°E). The storm is packing maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near its center, with gusts reaching up to 105 km/h. Its central pressure is measured at 990 hPa, and it is moving northwestward at a speed of 15 km/h.
Strong to gale-force winds are extending up to 550 kilometers from the storm’s center, affecting a wide swath of Northern Luzon.

What to expect
Residents in areas under Signal Nos. 1 and 2 are advised to secure light structures and agricultural assets. PAGASA warns of possible power interruptions and minor damage to structures in higher signal areas. Local government units and disaster response agencies are urged to monitor the situation closely and take precautionary measures, including possible evacuations in flood- or landslide-prone areas.
Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to strong winds and rough sea conditions.
