Marcos Jr. to embark on 5-day state visit to India in August

MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is scheduled to embark on a five-day state visit to India from August 4 to 8, 2025. The visit comes upon the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During his trip, President Marcos Jr. is expected to hold official meetings and participate in various events in New Delhi. Following engagements in the capital, the President and his delegation will travel to Bangalore to meet with representatives from the business sectors in both cities.

The President is also slated to meet with the Filipino community residing in New Delhi.

This visit marks the first State Visit to India by a Philippine President since October 2007, when then-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo undertook a similar trip. Conversely, former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind visited the Philippines for a State Visit in October 2019.

The State Visit in 2025 coincides with the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and India.
