CIDG seizes P8.5 million in allegedly smuggled vape products in Quiapo

MANILA – The Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), in a joint operation with the Bureau of Customs (BOC), seized an estimated PhP 8.5 million worth of alleged smuggled and misdeclared vape products in Quiapo, Manila.

The operation, which took place on August 12, 2025 at 11:00 PM, targeted a warehouse on Gaisano Street, Carlos Palanca. The CIDG Anti-Organized Crime Unit and the BOC’s Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) served a Mission Order for alleged violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (Republic Act No. 10863).

PBGEN Abrahano commended the operating units, stating, “With the confiscation of these alleged misdeclared items, we significantly help the government in its fights against smuggling and customs fraud.” He added that the CIDG is committed to enforcing all laws and urged the public to report any illegal activities.
