MANILA, Philippines – Commuters in Metro Manila can enjoy free rides on the MRT-3 and LRT-2 lines on June 12, 2025, in celebration of the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence Day.

Both train lines announced that the “Libreng Sakay” (free ride) program will be available during two time slots: from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., across all their respective stations.

The MRT-3 stated that this initiative is “in accordance with the order of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. to offer initiatives aimed at easing transportation costs and promoting appreciation for important national occasions.”
