Bongbong’s SONA, enhanced monsoon rains lead to Monday class suspensions

MANILA, Philippines – Several local government units have announced class suspensions for Monday, July 28, 2025, due to the continuous heavy rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat.” The suspensions vary by level and type of classes across Metro Manila and various provinces.

Here is the list of areas with class suspensions for Monday, July 28:

ALL LEVELS

  • Bulacan: Calumpit (face-to-face classes only; public and private)
  • Cavite: Kawit
  • La Union: (face-to-face classes only; public and private)
  • Metro Manila:
    • Some parts of Navotas City (Schools in District 2 and Sipac; face-to-face classes only; public and private)
    • Malabon City (face-to-face classes only; public schools only)
  • Pampanga:
    • Apalit (public and private)
    • Masantol (public and private; suspended until August 1)
  • Pangasinan:
    • Aguilar (public and private)
    • Alaminos (public and private)
    • Anda (public and private; suspended until July 30)
    • Bani (face-to-face classes only; public and private; suspended until August 1)
    • Binmaley (face-to-face classes only; public and private)
    • Calasiao (public and private)
    • Lingayen (public and private)
    • Mangaldan (public and private)
    • Urbiztondo (face-to-face classes only; public and private)

PRE-SCHOOL UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

  • Benguet: (face-to-face classes only; public and private)
  • Muntinlupa

KINDERGARTEN UP TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

  • Bulacan: Malolos (face-to-face classes only; public and private)

PRESCHOOL TO KINDERGARTEN

  • Baguio City: (public and private)

UPLAND SCHOOLS ONLY

  • Laguna: Paete (Schools in Sitio Alutay, Sitio Tubog, and Sitio Papatahan)

Special note for Quezon City:

Classes in all levels, both public and private, are suspended in Quezon City to accommodate President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA).
