HKGCC Applauds the Arts and Culture Development Roadmap
The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) applauds the Government’s announcement today (November 26) of the Blueprint for Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Development. This initiative marks a strong commitment to nurturing creative growth in Hong Kong, reinforcing the city’s position as a global hub for cultural exchange, and generating new opportunities across various sectors.
The detailed plan outlines more than 70 measures aimed at enhancing arts and culture development with an international focus. These measures include celebrating Hong Kong’s unique cultural identity and heritage, promoting arts and cultural exchanges between China and the global community, and strengthening the infrastructure supporting these industries.
HKGCC Chairman Agnes Chan remarked, “The Government’s roadmap for the cultural and creative industries will serve as a new engine for economic growth in Hong Kong. Beyond economic benefits and job creation, it will foster talent attraction and cultivation, positively impacting our overall economy.”
Additionally, the blueprint is in line with the country’s 14th Five-Year Plan, which emphasizes supporting Hong Kong as a key center for international cultural exchange. By hosting major arts and cultural events, Hong Kong can leverage its advantages, strengthen its reputation as Asia’s world city, and boost the country’s global influence.
The business community’s active involvement and support are vital for advancing the cultural and creative sectors. The Chamber is committed to maintaining close collaboration with the Government and encouraging businesses to engage with these initiatives, unlocking new opportunities for growth.
